I always enjoy dining at Memory Lane. My last trip, I ordered the chopped sirloin steak. The meat was cooked to perfection and was very juicy. However, everyone in the restaurant must have salted it! My Lord! Way too much salt!

Coincidentally named, Memory Lane Café Belleville is a small town with a dwindling population, a wide spot in the road. Google Maps struggles to find it when tasked with the challenge. A population of less than 300. What once was a very nice big brick building, is directly across the street from the café. The last historical building still standing, appears to have housed several businesses back when the town was thriving. Now it is a boarded-up, crumbling blemish that drags the town down. Worthless today except for the sentimental value that only a few old enough to remember, have for it. A monument of Belleville’s past, that is now a marker on memory lane. The café is as small town, down home, rural Arkansas as you can get. Delicious country cooked meals served up by friendly locals. A couple of enjoyable breakfasts for us. Plates filled with eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, biscuit and gravy. Served with an endless cup of coffee. After a quart of coffee, I had to protect my cup from be refilled. The interior décor is exactly what you would expect to find in a small café with a name Memory Lane: signs, pictures, license plates, advertising. Elvis was well represented. An entire wall dedicated to the “King of Rock and Roll.” My wife discovered a very unique surprise hanging on the rustic, rough cut pine walls; an autographed picture of Carol Burnett with a letter dated June 25, 2002. The letter was addressed to the owners of the restaurant at the time. Check the pictures. Drop in for delicious breakfast, or one of the daily specials with a side of friendly small-town hospitality. Better hurry though, the restaurant may soon be just another pleasant past experience that makes up memory lane. Memory Lane Café is for sale.

We had just finished some hiking at Mount Magazine and realized we had eaten all the snacks we had packed for the day. I started scanning for restaurants on a path of travel. There are a few popular franchise places in the next town, but we have a goal of trying all the diners we can find in our travels. . This is the cutest place and a perfect way to finish out our day. It has a very homey feel. Decor is perfect! Old American license plates for a very Route 66 feel in one room. Elvis memorabilia and an old jukebox decorated another room. The third room had what looked like family portraits and awards/plaques. The server was the SWEETEST and has the CUTEST thick southern accent. She was very friendly and easy to talk to, like even though I wasnt in my hometown, she made it feel like we were was visiting with an old friend. I hate that I don't remember her name to give proper credit. The food....chefs kiss! Best burger I've had in a while. I prefer mine well done which usually means I get a dry burger and thats OK, its my choice but that wasn't the case here. I got a well done burger like always, but it was still so juicy and delicious. Crinkle cut fries that were thick, soft, and crisp on the outside. Tater tots were a perfect crunch followed by a perfect flakey inside. We will absolutely come back when in the area.
